These black walnut outlet covers and light switch covers add visual appeal to a hallway area and accent the color tones in the flooring. The homeowner finished these plates with a hand rubbed tung oil. They were not stained.

This 2 gang maple plate covers a rocker switch and GFCI receptacle in a bathroom. This cover plate was finished with tung oil and no stain. Maple can be stained a variety of colors and also takes paint very nicely.

My friend Jay chose this figured walnut plate for his vacation home here in West Virginia. The spalted sapwood on the edges adds an interesting visual appeal. I would not typically send out wall plates like this one to website customers. If you are wanting to order more “interesting” looking plates, please indicate your request in your order notes and I’ll see what I can do.

We used Minwax Honey to stain these American chestnut outlet covers at the request of a customer. We offer reclaimed wood outlet covers in oak and American chestnut. Our reclaimed wood is salvaged from century old buildings here in southern West Virginia.
This switch plate was sealed with Waterlox wood protector then given some dark stain to accent the wood grain. It is a nice example of quarter sawn oak. Our reclaimed wood wall plates will have tighter growth rings and a darker patina than newly harvested oak. Most all of our reclaimed wood is at least 100 years old!
